Our mission and goal is to provide equine therapy and horsemanship skills to persons with special needs within our community. Helping mentally, emotionally and physically challenged children and adults through the therapeutic power of horses and the use of horse therapy. Providing a venue for our students to gain a sense of freedom, independence and self-reliance; where they will learn to interact socially, learn new skills, have a sense of accomplishment, learn responsibility and begin that path to self-reliance while working with and caring for horses.
We want our students to gain a sense of self-awareness, improve upon their social and emotional skills; thus, being able to interact with society with limited challenges in life. With this self-reliance, self-confidence, and self-discipline; they will be able to increase their social interaction and awareness with the world. We are providing the means for them to overcome and deal with their fears, learn tolerance, patience and build their self-esteem. They will be empowered to handle and deal with the challenges of life; but in the end achieve a better quality of life with the interaction of horses.
Our students will learn responsibility and self-awareness through directional instruction of horsemanship skills by learning to groom, saddle, use of equipment and respect of the horse. They will gain an overall respect for the animal. |

Our History
Imerman Angels was created on the belief that no one should have to fight cancer alone and without the necessary support. At 26 years old, Jonny Imerman was diagnosed with testicular cancer and began his fight against the disease. Throughout his experience, Jonny was lucky enough to have loving support from his family and friends but had never met anyone his age who was a cancer survivor. He wanted to talk to someone just like him, someone who truly understood, and was intimately familiar with his experience. In short, he was looking for someone who had already beaten the same type of cancer. This was the beginning of Jonny’s vision and in 2003, it became a reality when he founded Imerman Angels.
What We Do
Through our unique matching process, Imerman Angels partners anyone seeking cancer support with someone just like you - a “Mentor Angel”. A Mentor Angel is a cancer survivor or survivor’s caregiver who is the same age, same gender, and most importantly who has beaten the same type of cancer. A Mentor Angel is walking, talking, living proof, and inspiration that cancer can be beaten.
Our service is absolutely free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
These one-on-one relationships give a cancer fighter or caregiver the chance to ask personal questions and get support from someone who has been there before. Mentor Angels can lend support and empathy and help cancer fighters and caregivers navigate the system, determine their options and create their own support systems. Frequently, caregivers experience feelings similar to those of the person facing cancer. Mentor Angels can relate while being sensitive to the experience and situation. |

Friday the 13th, Lucky for Kids: Robert D. Hayes Golf Tournament
The Robert D. Hayes Golf Tournament produced by Kiwanis Club of Castle Rock is scheduled for Friday, July 13th, 2012. This year’s event will have the special twist of the special date. Perhaps this is what you need for a winning score. No matter what your outcome, the kids of the area will score big.
You could be the winner of the $3,000 Big Prize Shootout or $10,000 for a hole-in-one. The kids are winners as well, over the past 12 years this tournament has raised $175,000 for the kids of the area.
Robert D. Hayes was a long time Kiwanian dedicated to “changing the world, one child and one community at a time”. He served as President of Kiwanis in his tireless efforts to accomplish this goal.
The cost to play in this event is a mere $150.00 per player, a portion of which is tax deductible. The deadline for your application is July 6. You have plenty of time to hone your golf skills thereby improving your chances in getting a hole-in-one, a good return on your $150.00 investment. If you are too shy to show off your skills at hooking or slicing the ball you can become a sponsor for $250 and up. For your sponsorship you will receive exposure to upwards of 144 players and volunteers. You will also be honored at a special breakfast. And don’t forget, you are helping the kids.
This prestigious event begins with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start at Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course in Castle Rock on July 13.

Yumbana is a family owned bakery with the mission of providing yummy tasting foods for the ever increasing number of people who follow a gluten-free diet. Several years ago we made the leap into the gluten-free world only to find that baked products were lacking something . . . and not just gluten. They were crumbly, dry, funky tasting and sold for a premium as well. Like many of you, we were unaware of the many choices that are still available in (gluten-free) flours that many generations have cooked with in the past.
So after being disappointed with the quality of the products available I set out to find a decent Banana Bread (one of my favorite baked goods). The first ones baked up fairly well but still had some adjustments needed to fix the common pitfalls of gluten-free baked goods like graininess and crumbliness. But after a few more months of experiments we did it! We had come up with a really yummy Banana Bread recipe. Our yummy banana bread needed a name and we all decided to call it "Yumbana". So what began as an effort to create great tasting, gluten-free, dunkable banana bread turned into the company that offers products good enough to be called Yumbana.
About Our Names
You may be wondering how we got the names of our products. Here in Colorado, peaks above 14,000 feet are known as "14ers". As a local Colorado business, Yumbana proudly names each of its products after one of these spectacular mountains. There are actually 54 "14ers" . . . so there's plenty of names left to grow our line of delicious baked goods. :)
About Our Ingredients
More and more folks are finding out that they should adhere to a Gluten-Free diet. Some of them also have other allergies . . .trust me, we understand. To help you quickly see which of our products you can purchase for your allergy profile see our helpful Allergy Matrix Page which will quickly show you which of our products contain some of the more common additional food allergens. In addition, be sure to check the item's list of ingredients on our website pages.
Here is information about some ingredients that folks may have additional allergies to:
Nuts - Most of our items contain nuts but can be easily ordered without them. Just click the pull down menu when ordering and select "No Nuts". We do not use any Peanut products.
Eggs - With allergy issues of our own, we would love to eliminate eggs from our products but have yet to find a replacement that does not affect product quality. That being said, our muffin and cookie recipes use an and Egg:Flour ratio of 1:1 or less which our family (and others) have found to be the tolerance limit. (If you are unsure about your tolerance please check with your doctor before experimenting.)
Chocolate Chips - We exclusively use Soy-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut-Free chocolate. It is a little more expensive but worth it in terms of eliminating those additional pesky food allergens.
Oats - There is some confusion out there about which brands are truly GF. All of our Oats and Oat Flours are certified GF.
Baking Powder - Not only is our baking powder GF but we also use a brand in our muffins that does not contain Aluminum compounds. Here's to clear thinking for years to come . . .
Non-GMO - All of our dry ingredients are Non-GMO. If we are trying to live healthier lets take the next step right?
